Obituary: Wanda Mae Foster, 90, Bardstown

WANDA MAE FOSTER

Wanda Mae Foster, 90, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Norton’s Hosparus of Louisville. She was born Oct. 6, 1926, in Davis County. She was a homemaker, past president of Cox’s Creek Senior Homemakers Club, a former Girl Scouts leader, past member of 4-H, a member and deacon emeritus at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where she was involved with C.W.F. and was chairman of the Deacon’s for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Foster; her parents, Gladys and R.D. Young; and two brothers, Emmett Young and Estill Lee Young.

She is survived by three daughters, Ina Ruth (Ronnie) Boone of Bardstown, Sue Marie (Sam) Stack of Folkston, Ga., and Elizabeth Lee (Brian) Coursey of Coupeville, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Jimmy Boone, Nick Boone, Rebecca (Jason) Stack-Sheih, and Steven Stack.

The funeral service is 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at the First Christian Church (D.O.C.), with the Rev. John Powell officiating. There will be a private burial in Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at the church.

Memorial contributions may go to First Christian Church (D.O.C.) building fund.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
