City firefighters respond for smoke in an upstairs bedroom on Allison Ave.

Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 — The Bardstown Fire Department responded Monday night to a report of smoke in an upstairs bedroom in a home in the 800 block of Allison Avenue. Fire crews were dispatched just after 9 p.m. after a resident told Nelson County Dispatch there was noise and then smoke began coming out of the bedroom. Firefighters arrived to find a piece of furniture burning. Firefighters extinguished the fire and were on the scene for about 20 minutes.
