Obituary: Samuel Leon Miller, 66, Bardstown

Samuel Leon Miller, 66, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at his home. He was a retired employee of Vittitow Refrigeration. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Agnes Nevitt Miller; three sisters, Martie, Pud, and Mary Ethel; and three brothers, Ronnie Miller, Sar Miller and Carroll Miller.

He is survived by two daughters, Pascha Riney (Rob) and Taya Matias (Chuckie); one sister, Kay Greenwell; five brothers, Bo Miller, Jomet Miller, Butch Miller, Dean Miller and Ted Miller; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his loving companion, Berndine Smith.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Chris Lubecke and Deacon Arnold Downs presiding. Burial is in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in New Hope.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven with a 3 p.m. prayer vigil at the funeral home.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
