Obituary: Edward William ‘Ned’ Browne, 78, New Haven

EDWARD WILLIAM “NED” BROWNE

Edward William “Ned” Browne, 78, of New Haven, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at his home. He was a retired conductor for L&N and CSX Railroads. He was a volunteer conductor for the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a longtime Eagle Scout leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mildred Meriuns Browne; one son, John Edward Dupree; and one brother, Larry Browne.

He is survived by his loving wife, Earlena Cilley Browne; two daughters, Denise Dupree and Roxann Emmerson; three sons, Daniel Browne, David Browne and Martin Eldersma; one brother, Steven Browne; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral and burial is Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at the Lebanon National Cemetery at a time to be announced.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, 324 East Center St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
