Obituary: Elizabeth ‘Lib’ Skaggs, 83, Lebanon

Elizabeth “Lib” Skaggs, 83, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Flaget Hospital in Bardstown. She was born May 11, 1933, in Marion County. She was a retired employee of the Marion County Board of Education and a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

fun_angelShe was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl “Bill” Skaggs (1998); her parents, Sydney Hayden and Annie Marie Mattingly Stumph; one son, Jackie E. Skaggs; one sister, Jestine Jenell Stumph Huber; and one niece, Kristi Lynn Stumph.

Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Ann (Dennis) Gardner; one son, Eddie Earl (Phyllis) Skaggs; one daughter-in-law, Jean Ann Skaggs; three sisters, Dorothy Followell, Ann (Raymond) Peyton and Guy Eula (Bill) Thompson; two brothers, Clifford (Darlene) Stumph and Jerry (Susan) Stumph; three grandchildren, William S. (Chelsea) Skaggs, Natalie E. Browning and Joshua A. (Jessica) Raley; and seven great-grandchildren, Anthony Skaggs, William Patrick Skaggs, Kaylee Marie Skaggs, Kaden Thomas Raley, Brittany Dianne Browning, McKenzie Skaggs Raley and Jackson Blake Skaggs.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, officiated by the Rev. Anthony Gilbert. Burial is in the Old Liberty Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday and 9-11 a.m. Sunday at the church.

The Bosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
