Obituary: Lois Ann Porter, 54, Elizabethtown

LOIS ANN PORTER

Lois Ann Porter, 54, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Kindred Jewish Hospital. She was born in Hardinsburg, on Aug. 27, 1962, the daughter of Louis Tilford Bland and Emily Frances Whitfill. She was a former child caregiver and office manager. She had many interests that included electronic games, adult coloring books and puzzle books. She was very involved with Cub Scout events when her son was young and enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews on vacations.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Marcus Bland; and her father, Louis Tilford Bland.

Survivors include one son, Jeremy Porter (Laura) of Shepherdsville; her mother, Emily Bland of Balltown; three sisters, Cindy Veyel (Fred) of Louisville, Mary Lou Bryant (Allan) of Eminence, and Beth Willis (Walter) of Falls of Rough; two brothers, Wayne Bland of Lewisport and Mark Bland (Sonya) of Harned; two grandsons, Jesse Lee Terry and Joseph Sage Porter; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with the Rev. Tony Stevenson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Kosair Charities.

The Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg was in charge of arrangements.
