Obituary: Sister Carolyn Ann Wheat, SL, 95, Nerinx

Sister Carolyn Ann Wheat, SL, 95, of Nerinx, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was born Aug. 25, 1921, in Louisville to the late Charles Nathaniel and Georgia Regina Thompson Wheat. She entered the Sisters of Loretto in 1939 and received her final vows August 15, 1945. She earned her Master’s degree in Education from St. Louis University in 1966. Her assignments were located in Texas, California, Colorado, Missouri and New Mexico. She retired to the Loretto Motherhouse in 2016.

The Memorial Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Loretto Motherhouse Church.

A wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2017 at the Motherhouse.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
