Obituary: Frieda Fern Hibbs, 88, Bardstown
FRIEDA FERN HIBBS
Frieda Fern Hibbs, 88, of Bardstown, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Springview Hospital in Lebanon. She was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Nelson County to the late Paul Bridwell and Margaret Hughes Roby. She was the former owner of Roby’s Grocery in High Grove. She was a homemaker and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Styron Hibbs; and a special friend David Boblitt.
She is survived by her two sons, Lonnie (Peggy) Hibbs and Archie Hibbs, both of Cox’s Creek; two brothers, Paul Alvin Roby of Mount Washington and Bobby Dean (Martha) Roby of Bardstown; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Gann officiating. Burial is in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
