County firefighters respond for overheating breaker box on Woodside Drive

Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 — The Nelson County Fire Department responded Friday evening to a home on Woodside Drive for a report that the breaker box was smoking and sparking. County firefighters were dispatched at 6:33 p.m. Firefighters determined the main breaker was overloaded and the utility company was called to cut electricity to the residence. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants with immediate housing needs. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour.
