Obituary: Mary Katherine Lyvers, 89, Bardstown

Mary Katherine Lyvers, 89, of Bardstown, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at her residence. She was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Nelson County to the late John and Emma Firman Lyvers. She was a former housekeeper for My Old Kentucky Home County Club and Nazareth. She was a member of the American Legion Post #167 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bardstown.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Jones of Columbus, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at the funeral home with an American Legion Memorial Service Thursday evening at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
