Obituary: Roger Herman Vittitow, 81, Bardstown

ROGER HERMAN VITTITOW

Roger Herman Vittitow, 81, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at his residence. He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Nelson County. He was a self-employed contractor and logger and former owner of Boston Food Mart. He loved to restore old cars, and was a member of Boston Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Evelyn Vittitow; his parents, Nix and Lillian Vittitow; and one sister, Dean Dones.

He is survived by his son, Roger Barry (Tina) Vittitow of Bardstown; one daughter, Debbie (Jack) Kindlesparker of Bardstown; three sisters, Donnie Miles, Jo Ann Miles, and Patricia Cundiff, all of New Haven; four grandchildren, Lacey (Marc) Carter, Ryan (Amy) Vittitow, Jack Thomas (Kathy) Kindlesparker, and Kayla (Stan) Hurst; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with Chaplain Terry Troutman officiating. Burial is in the Boston Christian Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Alzheimer’s Association.
