Obituary: Opal Jean Lewis, 81, Hodgenville

Opal Jean Lewis, 81, of Hodgenville, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was born March 13, 1935 to the late Wade and Lucy Ada Milby Gibson in Hart County. She was a member of Mount Zion Separate Baptist Church. She was a retired funeral_lilydietician for Fort Knox civil service with many years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and three brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Ellen (Neal) Price and Sharlene Waggoner, both of Magnolia; two sons, Donald Ray “Cuz” (Sue) Waggoner and Ronnie Waggoner, both of Hodgenville; three sisters, Delores (L.D.) Wheeler of Magnolia, Devada (Leonard) Jefferies of Louisville and Norman (Shelby) Clopton of Magnolia; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Mount Zion Separate Baptist Church in Magnolia with Bro. Gerald Gardner and Bro. James Crim officiating. Burial is in the Mount Zion Church cemetery.

Visitation is 9 a.m. -noon Saturday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 612 North Lincoln Blvd, Hodgenville.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of arrangements.
