Historic preservation office sets historic property remodeling workshop

Friday, Feb 10, 2017 — The City of Bardstown preservation office has scheduled a free workshop that will address the many issues that face historic property owners who wish to remodel their home or commercial property.
The workshop, set for 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, will feature David Cook of David Cook Construction Inc. Cook will discuss topics related to his remodeling historic properties, including stone work, carpentry, roofing, chimney repair, etc. Free pizza and drinks will be provided.
Those who attend will also have the chance to meet City of Bardstown Preservation Coordinator RaShae Jennings and learn about the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application process and Historic Review Board rules and regulations.
The workshop will take place in the second floor conference room in the City of Bardstown Education Complex (COBEC) building, 219 East Muir St., next to Foster Heights Elementary School.
