MONDAY, JAN. 2, 2017

A Bardstown man was arrested Monday evening, Jan. 2, on several traffic offenses.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police officer observed a 2006 Ford Freestyle turn from John Rowan onto Bloomfield Road, crossing over into the oncoming traffic’s turning lane. During a traffic stop, the officer determined the vehicle’s registration was expired and there was no insurance on the vehicle. The operator’s license was also suspended. Carlton D. Darnell, 28, of Bardstown, was arrested on charges of no registration plates, no insurance, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and careless driving. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

TUESDAY, JAN. 3, 2017

THEFT. A Bardstown woman was arrested Tuesday evening, Jan. 3, on a theft-related charge.

According to the citation, Terry F. O’Bryan, 45, was allegedly observed taking items without paying for them at the Dollar General Store on Bloomfield Road. She was arrested on one charge of theft by unlawful taking-shoplifting under $500. She was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

THEFT. A Bardstown woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 3, on a theft-related charge.

According to the citation, Deborah E. Norris, 46, was observed by Kroger employees allegedly taking items without paying for them. She was arrested on one charge of theft by unlawful taking-shoplifting under $500 and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 4, 2017

DRUGS. A Bardstown man was arrested Wednesday evening, Jan. 4, on drug-related charges.

According to the citation, Bardstown Police officers were sent to Wilson Motel looking for a wanted individual. Officers were talking with Larry A. Morgan, 22, of Bardstown, when they spotted aluminum foil with residue on the bed, and a white powdery substance on the dresser. Morgan allegedly told officers the foil was used to smoke meth, and the substance on the dresser was his meth. Morgan was arrested on one county of possession of controlled substances, first-degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

THURSDAY, JAN. 5, 2017

DRUGS. A Bardstown woman was arrested Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5 on drug-related charges after police responded to an altercation in progress.

According to the citation, at about 2 p.m., Jan. 5, 2017, Bardstown Police officers responded to a report of an altercation at a residence on Barberry Lane. Officers located Kayondra M. Poynter, 28, of Bardstown, allegedly yelling at another person in a driveway. Officers determined Poynter had an outstanding indictment warrant. During the arrest, officer alleged found in her possession a cigarette pack containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and a metal pipe like the type used to smoke drugs. Poynter was arrested on the indictment warrant and also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

FRIDAY, JAN. 6, 2017

THEFT. A Springfield man was arrested Friday morning, Jan. 6, 2017, for shoplifting and taking officers on a foot pursuit.

According to the citation, Colon Jesus Angel Munoz, 37, was observed allegedly taking merchandise from Advance Auto on North Third Street. Officers pursued Munoz on foot through the city cemetery and into the woods west of Joe Hills. Munoz allegedly was picked up by a cab on Salem Drive; the cab was stopped by police in the Kentucky Home Square shopping center parking lot where Munoz fled on foot. He was apprehended and arrested on one count of theft by unlawful taking — shoplifting under $500, tampering with physical evidence and fleeing or evading police (on foot).

According to the citation, Munoz allegedly told officers he was told to take the item by someone who agreed to accept it in exchange it for drugs, “He used me,” Munoz alleged said of the man.” I’m just a junkie, I don’t do stuff like this.”

SUNDAY, JAN. 8, 2017.

ASSAULT. A Bardstown man was arrested on assault charges early Sunday morning, Jan. 8, 2017.

According to the citation, at about 2 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, Bardstown Police responded to a complaint of altercation on Caldwell Avenue. After talking with the victim, the victim and officers went back to the home and located Jordan C. Reed, 30, of Bardstown in the attic. He was arrested and charged him with one count each of fourth-degree assault, (domestic violence) minor injury; fourth-degree child abuse, and criminal mischief, third-degree.
