Louisville man indicted on local sex charges arrested Tuesday

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 — Marshall K. Ashby, 49, of Louisville, was arrested Tuesday, May 24, 2011, and lodged in the the Nelson County Jail.

An indictment issued by a Nelson County grand jury on May 18, 2011, charged Ashby with first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, second-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse. He was booked into the jail at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the indictment, between June 2010 and February 2011, Ashby allegedly engaged in sexual contact with another person under the age of 16. He was also indicted for alleged deviate sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 14 by use of forcible compulsion, and allegedly causing a minor under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity. Bail was set at $200,000 cash only plus conditions.
