One dead, one injured in Sunday single-vehicle crash north of Bloomfield

Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, 8 p.m. — One person died and one person was injured Sunday evening in a single-vehicle accident on KY 55 north of Bloomfield at Stephens Lane near the Spencer County line. The Northeast Nelson Fire Department, Nelson County Sheriff  and Nelson County EMS responded to the accident at about 6:08 p.m. Sunday. Reports from the scene stated the deceased victim died from injuries in the vehicle and the second occupant was ejected.

EMS treated the injured person at the scene, and then was transported to University Hospital in Louisville. KY 55 was shutdown while first-responders worked the accident scene.
