LOLA BOWMAN

Lola Bowman, 73, of Cox’s Creek, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. She was born March 7, 1943, in Louisville. She retired after 47 years of employment for the Kroger Co., where she was a union steward. She was a member of River View Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim B. and Hattie Rummage; and a dear friend, Paul Finn.

She is survived by her son, Steve Bowman of Cox’s Creek; one sister, Elaine (Tom) Gordon of Cox’s Creek; two brothers, Larry (Carolyn) Mattingly of Cox’s Creek and Barry (Kaye) Mattingly of Mount Washington; one uncle Jerry (Penny) Rummage of Cox’s Creek; one grandson, Josh Bowman of Cox’s Creek; one great-grandson Bryce Bowman of Cox’s Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to count.

The graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at the River View Baptist Church Cemetery, with a celebration of her life 10:15 a.m. to noon, Monday Feb. 13, 2017, at the River View Baptist Fellowship Hall with Bro. Chad Morrow will officiating.

Memorial contributions may go to American Cancer Society.
