Obituary: John Hunter ‘Buzzy’ Wycoff, 76, Bardstown
John Hunter “Buzzy” Wycoff, 76, of Bardstown, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Bardstown Health and Rehab after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 27, 1940 in Frankfort.
He was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph Prepatory School and earned an Associates Degree from St. Catherine College. He was a devoted son who accompanied his mother to her many political and community events. He was a member of the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Kathryn Hunter Wycoff and Joseph McIlvoy Wycoff.
He is survived by one brother; Joseph A. Wycoff (Anne) of Englewood, Fla., and Bardstown; one aunt; Jain Hain of Louisville; one uncle, James Crady Hunter of Morgantown; and several cousins.
The memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial is in the Springfield Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions got to St. Joseph Parish School, the Crusade for Children, or a charity of your choice.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
