Obituary: Mark Anthony Mudd Sr., 57, Cox’s Creek

Mark Anthony Mudd Sr., 57, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at his residence. He was born Aug. 14, 1959, in Bardstown to the late Joseph W. and Jewell Pauline Price Mudd. He was a remodeling contractor and a member of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Dross and Brenda Downs; and three brothers, Jimmy Mudd, Jerry Mudd and Joe Mudd.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Charlene Stansbury Mudd; one daughter, Chrissy (Jarrod) Barnes of Lexington; two sons, Mark Anthony (Ashley) Mudd Jr. and Eric James Mudd, both of Cox’s Creek; six sisters, Linda Humphrey of Cox’s Creek, Mary Ballard and Anita Mudd, both of Bardstown, Gleada Spalding of Louisville, Jannie Farnsworth of Clarksville, Tenn. and Becky Mudd of Bloomfield; three brothers, Michael (Robin) Mudd and Charlie (Gail) Mudd, both of Cox’s Creek and David (Cathy) Mudd of Bardstown; two sisters-in-law, Gail Mudd of Cox’s Creek and Sally Lafavers of Bardstown; and two grandchildren, Danielle Christine Barnes and Brandon Jacob Barnes.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Gann officiating. Burial is in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
