Obituary: Francis Terry Ballard, 64, Loretto
Francis Terry Ballard, 64, of Loretto, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at his residence. He was born Aug. 7, 1952, in Holy Cross where he was raised. He was a retired employee of American Fuji Seal in Bardstown and a 1970 graduate of Nelson County High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcie and Beatrice Cissell Ballard; one infant sister, Lonna Ballard; and one brother, Bruce Ballard.
Survivors include his fiancé, Margaret Thompson; one daughter, Stephanie Ballard (Keith Shain) of Bardstown; one son, Scott Ballard (Alex) of Louisville; four sisters, Joette Mattingly (Estil), Judy Wimpsett (Larry), Lynn Ballard and Sandy Ballard all of Bardstown; two brothers, Tommy Ballard (Risé ) of Bardstown and Roger Ballard (Virginia) of Versailles; one sister-in-law, Judy Ballard of Bowling Green; two stepchildren, Billy Thompson (Susan) of St. Francis and Amy Edelen of Bardstown; six grandchildren, Savanna Ballard, Chasity Carr (Aaron), Kelsey Ballard, Shelby Hatfield, Emily Hatfield and Joshua Cissell; two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Ruby Carr; three stepgrandchildren, Landon Edelen, Lauren Thompson and Emma Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto with the Rev. Bryan Lamberson officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Memorials donations may go to the family for funeral expenses.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
