Obituary: Sara Aileen Sallee, 95, Shepherdsville

Sara Aileen Sallee, 95, of Shepherdsville, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Seneca Place in Louisville. She was a former employee of Methodist Hospital, where she worked in purchasing. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mount Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes Sallee; her parents, John and Fannie Raley McCubbins; one sister, Iris Black; two brothers Albert McCubbins and Creighton McCubbins; her grandparents, Sam and Sarah McCubbins and Frank and Sophie Raley; two aunts, Lyda McCubbins and Dupie Woods; and one cousin, Beverly Woods.

Survivors include her brothers, Glenn McCubbins and Ray McCubbins; two sisters-in-law, Mary Sallee and Barbara Katzman (Bill); two cousins, Brady McCubbins and Samuel Raley; two special friends and neighbors, Alan Landreth and Norma Mudd; and many cousins and family members.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Dale Cieslik officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with a 3 p.m. prayer service.
