Obituary: Joseph Clarence Johnson, 86, Hodgenville

Joseph Clarence Johnson, 86, of Hodgenville, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 6, 1930, in Nelson County and formerly lived in Boston. He retired from Crush Stone of Louisville in 1985.

He is preceded in death by his son, Davie Johnson; his parents, Clarence B. and Gatha Johnson; three sisters, Catherine Cattrell, Edna Cozart, and Leona Hicks; and four brothers, Edward Johnson, Roy Johnson, Bill Johnson, and Bernard Johnson.

He is survived by one daughter, Sherill (Keith) Yates of Bardstown; five sons, Joseph Johnson of Idaho, Randall (Roberta) Johnson of Mount Washington, Andy (Tammy) Johnson of Hodgenville, Mark (Jackie) Johnson and Brian Johnson, both of Bardstown; one sister, Lula Harris of New Haven; 16 grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Rogers officiating.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 and 9-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the funeral home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
