Obituary: Cordelia Elizabeth ‘Cordie’ Brady Smith, 98, Springfield, formerly of St. Joe

Cordelia Elizabeth “Cordie” Brady Smith, 98, of Cissville Rd., Springfield, formerly of the St. Joe Community of Marion County, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at the Village of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Irwin “Socks” Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Smith of Springfield and Theresa Smith of Louisville; two sisters, Theresa Shaw of Fort Myers, Fla. and Bernadine Wheatley Spalding of Bardstown; two sons, Arthur Clement Smith of Clovis, N.M. and Charles Smith of Paris; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass for Cordelia Elizabeth “Cordie” Brady Smith is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, and 7-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield with a prayer service 7 p.m. Friday.

The Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
