Obituary: Bro. James William Humes, 78, Lebanon

Bro. James William Humes, 78, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1938, in Fairfield to the late Pete and Nellie Murphy Humes. He was a retired employee of General Electric and the current pastor of the Lebanon Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Humes; and one son, Edward Humes.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Spann Humes; two daughters, Treasia (David) Robertson of Louisville and Becky (Billy) Johnson of Shepherdsville; three sons, William Jake Humes of Pennsylvania, James Kevin (Rita) Humes of Willisburg and James (Alice) Humes of Campbellsville; one stepson, Tom (Bonnie) Goldsmith of Shepherdsville; one sister, Alice (Larry) Wilder of Fairfield; two brothers, Raymond Humes of Springfield and Jerry Humes of Fairfield; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at the Lebanon Church of God with Bro. Bill Bryant officiating. Burial is in the Mount Eden Cemetery in Shepherdsville.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
