Home’s roof damaged by fire following early morning lightning strike

Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, 11 a.m. — A home in the 1800 block of Barnes Road was damaged by fire after an early Tuesday morning lightning strike.

The Nelson County Fire Department was dispatched at 5:55 a.m. for a home with a roof fire following a lightning strike. Firefighters also requested help from the Bardstown Fire Department. Firefighters were on the scene until about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.
