Obituary: Ruby Hood Pennington, 73, Bloomfield

Ruby Hood Pennington, 73, or Bloomfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born May 2, 1943, in Jefferson County to the late Ruel and Daisy Thompson Hood. She was a homemaker, a former home health caregiver, and a member of the Bloomfield Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Pennington; two sisters, Mae Coslow and Bessie Woodall; and one granddaughter; Heather Brooke Pennington.

She is survived by her two sons, Allen (Paula) Pennington of Willisburg and Tim (Pamela) Pennington of Bloomfield;

three sisters, Beulah Ross of Willisburg, Robbie Pennington of Bloomfield and Agnes (Jim) Robinson of Louisville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Millard Ledford officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
