Obituary: Ida Cerilla ‘Granny’ Goff, 96, Bloomfield
Ida Cerilla “Granny” Goff, 96, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 26, 1920, in Anderson County to the late Harry Mason and Lillie Mae Beasley Waldridge. She was a farmer and homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and entertaining. She was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for 52 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Goff; three sisters, Tennie Hagan, Ellen Snider and Nettie Fay Waldridge; four brothers, Buck Waldridge, Perry Waldridge, Claiborne Waldridge, and Virgil Waldridge; and one Rhonda Goff Martin.
She is survived by one daughter, Vickie (Tommy) Byrnes of Bloomfield; two sons, Ronnie (Sherrill) Goff of Edmonton and Bennie (Terri) Goff of Bloomfield; her special caregiver, Wendy Williams; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church with Bro Richard Carwile, Bro. Matt Thompson and Bro. Nick Bateman officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
