RANDAL EARL PARROTT

Randal Earl Parrott, 81, of Bardstown, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at his residence. He was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Botland. He retired from General Electric Appliance Park Building 5 in Louisville after 41 years of service in 1996. He was ordained and served as elder at Botland Christian Church, where he was raised and also served as elder at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Bardstown, where he was a member and served as Chair of Elders, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent, Christian Men’s Fellowship, and a member of church choir for many years. He served as a representative of First Christian Church on District 5 Board of Christian Churches. He was a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Wayne Parrott; an infant daughter, Annette Michel Parrott; and his parents, Russell and Gladys Marks Parrott.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Kinser Parrott; one daughter, Peggy Ann (Chris) Bradley of Bardstown; one son, Phillip Earl (Janet) Parrott of Bardstown; two brothers, Jerry Parrott of Botland and Lonnie (Karen) Parrott of Bardstown; several nieces and nephews; several surrogate grandchildren; and special caregiver Scarlet Reed.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with burial in Bardstown Cemetery with the Rev. John Powell officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, will be 3 to 8 pm Wednesday March 8, and 9 to 10:15 am Thursday March 9, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to First Christian Church (D.O.C.), Endowment Fund.
