Obituary: Estelle Allen, 78, Bardstown
Estelle Allen, 78, of Bardstown, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born July 11, 1938, in Bardstown. She was a former employee of Federal Hill Nursing Home, a lifelong member of St. Monica Catholic Church, and a lifelong military wife.
She was preceded in death her husband, Richard Allen; one son, Gregory Allen; one granddaughter, Tiayana Allen; one grandson, Dominic Allen; and her parents, Annie Mae Bard and Carlos McGoffney.
She is survived by four daughters, Debbie Allen, Patricia Baker (Ernest), Karen Cotton (James), and Lesley Allen, all of Bardstown; four sons, Thomas Allen (Annetta) of Fayetteville, N.C., Eric Allen (Donna) and Richard Allen, both of Denver, and Stephen Allen (Kaori) of Callaway, Md.; three sisters, Irene Lydian, Margaret McMakin, and Mary Tucker, all of Bardstown; one brother, Joseph Lancaster of Louisville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017, at St. Monica Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Clark officiating.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017 and 9-10:15 a.m. Monday at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
