Obituary: Harry H. Headley, 81, formerly of Louisville

HARRY H. HEADLEY

Harry H. Headley, 81, of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Louisville, died Monday, March, 13, 2017, at Hospice Hospital in North Fort Myers, Fla. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on Nov. 11, 1935. He actively served in the armed services from 1953-1959 and the reserves until 1963. Before his retirement in 1997, he worked for Kosair Children’s Hospital as a lab tech for 33 years. After retirement, he enjoyed an active life in South Florida where he collected an enormous gathering of friends. He loved the golf course, calling Bingo, making crafts and a good fishing hole. He loved helping others and was always willing to share his time, a beer and any tool he had.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Wendell and Emma Dorothy Headley.

He leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Donna; one daughter, Lori (Damon) Jackey of Bardstown, one son Harry (Nancy) Headley; one sister, Debbie Headley; two brothers, Art (DJ) Headley and Fred (Marcia) Headley; four granddaughters, Samantha, Kaitlin, Laura and Jennifer; one grandson, Daniel; one niece and several nephews.

A Celebration of Life service is being held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Tropical Palms Clubhouse, 17100 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, Fla.

Harry’s family would like to thank Hope Hospice of Florida, and our friends and family we love so dear.
