Nelson County firefighters respond for fire reported at Ritchie Lane home

Friday, March 24, 2017, 2 a.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department and Nelson County EMS responded early Friday morning for a structure fire on Ritchie Lane.

The fire department and EMS were dispatched at 12:16 a.m. to a home in the 300 block of Ritchie Lane. The first firefighter to arrive reported smoke was visible coming from the home and the home had been evacuated. Firefighters knocked the fire down and then crews used their equipment to remove smoke from the home. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour. No one was injured.
