Obituary: Celina Edlin, 92, Columbia, Tenn.

CELINA EDLIN

Celina Edlin, 92, of Columbia, Tenn., died Thursday, March 23, 201,7 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tenn. She was born July 13, 1924, in Lawrence, Mass. to the late John and Angelina Reece Brian. She was a member of Central Christian Church for 40 years and most recently attended Cross Timbers Christian Church.

She was an Eastern Star member for 60 years and served as the “mayor” of Stoneybrook Estates in Columbia. She loved animals, especially dogs, and she enjoyed going to church. She had a wonderful personality, could light up any room. She was a great story teller. She was an excellent cook and loved her family unconditionally.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, John, Anna, Kay, Henry, Ruth, and Angelina.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James “Jim” Edlin of Columbia, Tenn.; three daughters, Angelina (Allen) Black of Louisville, Belinda (Charlie) Ballard and Jeanne (Rick) Hardwick, both of White House, Tenn.; four sons, Robert Michael (Fay) Burnett of Shepherdsville, Bobby (Demaris) Edlin of Louisville, James Daniel “Danny” (Cheryl) Edlin of Columbia, Tenn. and David Edlin of Mount Pleasant, Tenn.; one brother, Thomas Brian of Marlboro, Mass.; 15 grandchildren, William Burnett, Patrick (Shannon) Burnett, Robert Michael (Elizabeth) Burnett, Jr., Damian Michael (Tonia) Cole, Dana Michelle (Dean) Portman, Deana Marie (James) Hardin, Lori (Mike) Alguire, Shannon (Tim) Holley, Josh Edlin, Becky Edlin, Amanda (Joel) Skelley, Kirk (Christie) Hardwick, Amy Jo (Adam) Bowlds, Chanze (Melanie) Edlin, Mason Edlin; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 4:15 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tenn., with Steve Atherton officiating.

Visitation in Columbia, Tenn., is noon-4 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service at 4 p.m.

The graveside service is 4:15 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Edlin cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation in New Haven is noon-4 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Mason Edlin, Jordan Cole, Damian Cole, Josh Edlin, Kirk Hardwick, and Cole Portman.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial donations to the Maury County Animal Shelter: 1233 Mapleash Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements with assistance from the Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tenn.
