Obituary: Charles Thomas ‘Chuck’ Mattingly, 57, Saint Joe

CHARLES THOMAS “CHUCK” MATTINGLY

Charles Thomas “Chuck” Mattingly, 57, of Saint Joe, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, in Lebanon. He was born Jan. 31, 1960, in Marion County. He was a former diesel mechanic with Brandeis Machinery, Standard Equipment Co. and Komatsu America in Louisville. He was a loving grandfather who enjoyed helping others and NASCAR racing. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph David Mattingly Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Lois Thompson Mattingly; his mother, Ann Mattingly of Lebanon; two stepchildren, Renee Green (Bill) of Madison, Ala. and Eddie Nutt (Jo Ann) of Waynesboro, Tenn.; three stepgrandchildren, Mason Nutt, Makale Dixon and Mackenzie Nutt; three sisters, Kathy Cissell (Scott) and Barbara Lamkin (Joe), both of Raywick, and Michelle Mattingly of Lebanon; three brothers, Joe Dave Mattingly (Tammy) of Loretto, Jeff Mattingly (Karen) of Bardstown, and Michael Mattingly (Chrissy) of Versailles.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick, with the Rev. David Naylor presiding. Cremation will follow the Mass.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are Mason Nutt, Makale Dixon, Coleman Mattingly, Grant Mattingly, Travis Lamkin and Jeremy Cissell; Honorary Pallbearers are Nicky Lamkin, Mackenzie Nutt, Chad Mattingly, Jordan Bryan, Abby Mattingly, Courtney Branon and Christopher Mattingly.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
