Obituary: Willard N. ‘Buddy’ Barry, 83, Elizabethtown
Willard N. “Buddy” Barry, 83, of Elizabethtown, died March 27, 2017, at Kensington Manor. He was a native of Hardin County who served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church, and had a strong Christian upbringing. He was a salesman for Rainbo Baking Company. He was a 32nd degree Mason at Franklin Crossroads and was a Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Edith Brown Barry; and two siblings, Sibyl Buckles and Juanita Hutcherson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Patrick Barry of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Kathryn (Martin) Noel and Deborah Allen, both of Elizabethtown; two sons, James Patrick Barry and Ronald Neil (Linda) Barry, both of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Josephine House of Elizabethtown and Loeta Sullivan of Munfordville; three brothers, Dr. James Barry and Elmo Barry, both of Tennessee, and Harold Barry of Florida; seven grandchildren, Becky Despain, John Matthew Despain, Amanda Kirkpatrick, Elizabeth Ann Tinnell, Christopher Alan Parker, Michael Patrick Barry, and Jennifer Barry; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was 1 p.m. Thursday at Elizabethtown Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Chasteen and Dr. Danny Haynes officiating. Burial was in St. James Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday and Thursday at Brown Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
The Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown was in charge of arrangements.
