Obituary: Sue Ann “Suzie” Matus McKay, 67, Bardstown
Sue Ann “Suzie” Matus McKay, 67, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 13, 1949, in Taylorsville to the late Luther and Betty Peavler Chesser. She was a Reconciliation Specialist for 1st Horizon for 21 years and a former employee of the Butte Knit Sewing Factory. She was a member of Nelson County Baptist Church, the Optimist Club, and a volunteer for Bardstown At Home.
She is survived by her husband; Arch McKay Jr.; one daughter, Leslie Matus (Tim) Kulig of Bardstown; one son, David William (Lei) Matus of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Brian Chesser of Bardstown; six grandchildren, Tabitha Patel, Aarin Kulig, Cassie Kulig, Carlee Kulig, Athena Matus, and Braden Matus; one stepson, Arch “Chip” (Carla) McKay III of Bloomfield; three stepgrandchildren, Ji McKay, Lud McKay, and Adilyn McKay; and two nephews, Zachery Chesser and Jacob Chesser.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with Bro. Darrell Goodlett officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 and 9 a..m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or Bardstown At Home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
