Mount Eden man arrested on charges he stole from construction site

Friday, March 31, 2017, 12:14 p.m. — A Mount Eden man was arrested after police determined he stole copper pipes and various tools from the Thai Summitt construction site Thursday night.

Bardstown Police responded at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 to Maywood Chevron for a report of a suspicious vehicle with pipes hanging out the windows. Sgt. Kyler Wright and Officer Brad Carrico responded and located the vehicle and the driver, Zachary R. Hayden, 24, of Mount Eden.

Hayden told police contractors gave him the materials; the contractors told officers they had equipment and materials missing from the Thai Summitt construction site. Contractors identified the materials at the police station. Hayden was arrested and charged with burglary, third-degree and criminal trespassing, third-degree. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
