Traffic stop leads to arrest on drug-trafficking, weapon charges

Friday, March 31, 2017, 1 p.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested on drug charges early Thursday morning following a traffic stop for having one headlight.
At 2:20 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, Bardstown Police officers stopped a vehicle operated by Jared H. Sparkman, 19, of Bardstown, for driving with only one operating headlight on his vehicle. During the traffic stop, police located a large amount of marijuana and $1,465 in cash in his possession. Sparkman was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
