Obituary: John Robert ‘Bob’ Robinson, 57, Cox’s Creek

John Robert “Bob” Robinson, 57, of Cox’s Creek, died Monday, April 3, 2017, in the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was born Feb. 26, 1960, in Bardstown to George Alvin and Emma May Scobee Robinson. He was a farmer who served as the president of the Kentucky Home Pork Producers Association; secretary of the Kentucky Pork Producers Association; chairman of the Mid-South Pork Coop; served on the board of directors of Nelson County Farm Bureau Board; the Nelson County Agriculture Development Board; the Nelson County Extension District Board and County Council; and served as board chairman for the North Nelson Water District. He was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Alvin Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Jones Robinson; two daughters, Jennifer Robinson of Austin, Texas and Anna Delle (Kaleb) Miller of Cox’s Creek; his mother, Emma May Robinson of Cox’s Creek; and his sister, Georganne (Danny) Collins of Bloomfield.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Carwile officiating. Burial is in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2017, and 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road. Additional visitation is after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund or the Margie Holt Scholarship Fund Kentucky Pork Producers Association, 1110 Hawkins Drive Elizabethtown, KY 42701.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
