Obituary: Kathryn Hicks, 94, Bardstown
KATHRYN HICKS
Kathryn Hicks, 94, of Bardstown, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at her residence. She was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Louisville. She retired from Enro Shirt Factory. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a very kind-hearted person who liked to play bingo and cards. She was a people person who helped many who were in need. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Metcalfe County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hicks; two sons, James Otis Hicks, and Larry Wayne Hicks; her parents, Harlan and Ella Herron; three sisters; and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Jerri (Will) Beard of Cox’s Creek; two sons, Robert Hicks of New Haven and Stephen Hicks of Louisville; one brother, Murvin Herron of Louisville; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends; and a special friend, Ruth Bullington of English, Ind.
The funeral is noon Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with burial in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery in Metcalfe County with Pastor Rodney Lynch officiating.
Visitation is 10 a.m. – noon Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may go to donor’s favorite charity.
