Obituary: Mary Alice Mattingly, 86, Raywick
Mary Alice Mattingly, 86, of Raywick, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at her residence. She was born July 8, 1930, in Raywick. She formerly worked at Walmart and the old Jane and Linda Sportswear in Lebanon. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the St. Francis Xavier SEW-cialize Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Grover “Duck” Mattingly; her parents, Felix and Daisy Catherine Lee Mattingly; one daughter, Debbie Faye Gardner; one sister, Lillie Mae McIntire; one brother, Robert Lee Mattingly; two brothers-in-law, Jim Cox and Roy McIntire; and one granddaughter, Cassie Rafferty.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Whitehead (James) of Lebanon and Marsha Raikes of Bardstown; three sons, Ricky Mattingly (Joan) of Versailles, Kenny Mattingly of St. Mary’s and Gary Mattingly (Dana) of Lebanon; two sisters, Shirley Ann Eldridge (Paul) and Lucy Cox, both of Lawrenceburg; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. David W. Naylor officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road in Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Bobby Mattingly, Kyle Mattingly, Justin Raikes, Kevin Gardner, Doug Gardner and Ron Gardner; Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Lisa Mattingly, Shelley Gordon, Ashley Barnett, Carrie Dillon, Kristi Raikes, Rachelle Mattingly Hurley and Megan Mattingly.
The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
