Obituary: John E. Hartlage, 91, Lebanon Junction

John E. Hartlage, 91, of Lebanon Junction, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Jewish Medical Center South. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Teresa Bartley Hartlage; one son, Jimmy Hartlage; two grandchildren, Joseph Daniel “Butchie” Hartlage and Elba Rae Hartlage; his parents, Val Hartlage, Jr. and Wilma Senn Hartlage; and three brothers.

Survivors include his children, Doris Marcum, Teresa Westwood (Tony), Frankie Hartlage, Benny Hartlage (Barbara) and Bobby Hartlage (Becky); one sister, Ann Marie Meyer; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.\

The funeral is 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Brian Kenney officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
