Video: Individual witness testimony from hearing to remove Mayor John Royalty

Monday, April 17, 2017, 12:13 p.m. — The individual testimony of the witnesses in the April 12-13, 2017 Bardstown City Council public hearing to consider removing Mayor John Royalty are now available for viewing here as well as the Nelson County Gazette’s YouTube channel.

Nine witnesses testified during the two-day hearing. The hearing’s opening and each individual’s testimony (including cross-examination), final arguments and the council’s decision may be viewed directly from the individual links below.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 2017 TESTIMONY

Public hearing begins, testimony from Bardstown Fire Capt. Todd Spalding. Running time: About 1 hour, 21 minutes.

Testimony of Bardstown IT Supervisor Brandon Brewer. Running time: About 2 hours, 45 minutes. 

Testimony of former Bardstown City Councilman Francis Lydian (Lydian’s testimony was actually taken during between Brandon Brewer’s testimony and his cross-examination by defense counsel). Running time: About 13 minutes, 5 seconds. 

Testimony of Bardstown businessman Ken Ables. Running time: 18 minutes, 47 seconds. 

Testimony of Bardstown City Attorney Tim Butler. Running time: 49 minutes, 32 seconds. 

Testimony of City Clerk Barbie Bryant. Running time: Approximately 1 hour, 22 minutes.
