Obituary: Katherine L. ‘Katie’ Hall, 80, formerly of Bardstown
Katherine L. “Katie” Hall, 80, formerly of Bardstown, died Friday, April 14, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born May 2, 1936, to the late Charles Everett and Alberta Spalding Beam. She was a beloved member of her community. She served as executive director of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce, served on several committees during the years and started the March of Dimes chapter in Nelson County where she served as the chairman for several years and was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Frank Hall; one sister, Barbara Mudd; and two brothers, Charles E. Beam Jr. and Larry Beam.
She is survived by one daughter, Kim Withers of Nicholasville; two sons, Joe Hall of Nicholasville and Jeff (Deanne) Hall of Paris; two sisters, Mary (Andrew) Steckbeck and Frances (Fred) Clements, both of Lexington; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Patrick Fitzsimmons officiating.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Betts-West Funeral Home in Nicholasville, and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with evening prayers.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to Alzhheimer’s Association.
