Obituary: Margaret Riggs SCN, 69, Nazareth

Margaret Riggs SCN, 69, of Nazareth, died Saturday, April 15, 2017. She was a native of Lebanon and had been a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 34 years.

She lived in Belize from 1982-83 where she served in a local parish. From 1983-89, she served as parish minster at St. Jerome at Fancy Farm. She studied at Spalding University and served at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital for 18 years until her retirement in 2008.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Marinel Clark, Shirley Ann Hutchins, Patricia Bartley, James T. Riggs III, William T. Riggs, John M. Riggs, Ginger Ayers, Lois Edelen and Sara Ruley; and by her religious community.

The Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at St. Vincent Church at Nazareth followed by burial in the Nazareth Cemetery.

Visitation was Tuesday at the church.

The Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, was in charge of arrangements.
