Springfield woman injured in Sunday morning Pottershop Rd crash

Sunday, April 23, 2017, 4 p.m. — A Springfield woman was injured early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Pottershop Road. According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by Breann Ruley, 29, of Springfield ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole at about 6:53 Sunday morning.
Lt. Kaelen Matthews and Deputy Jerry Hardin from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded, as did Nelson County EMS and the Nelson County Fire Department responded to the scene after the accident was reported as possibly having live power lines involved. A Salt River Electric crew also responded to the scene. First-responders found Ruley in her vehicle with apparent head and leg injuries. Her vehicle was traveling east, left the road and struck a utility pole, which fell onto the roadway.
EMS treated the victim at the scene and transported her to Flaget Memorial Hospital.
