Man injured after van collides with moped in Friday morning crash

Friday, April 28, 2017, 9 a.m. — A man operating a moped was injured Friday morning after he was hit by a minivan on Stoner Road.
According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, shortly before 7:45 a.m. Friday, a moped operated by Darrell Lee Brown, 55, pulled out of a driveway in the 1000 block of Stoner Road into the path of a 2005 Dodge Caravan operated by Jennifer Rojas, 38, of Bardstown.
Rojas was driving southbound with her four children and was unable to avoid striking the moped. Nelson County EMS treated Brown at the scene and transported him to Flaget Memorial Hospital where he was then flown by helicopter to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries. No one in the van was injured in the crash.
Deputy Jerry Hardin with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigated the accident.
