Obituary: Ocelia Bivens, 78, Bardstown
Ocelia Bivens, 78, of Bardstown, died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at her residence. She was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Bloomfield to the late Will and Alpha Gibson Lee. She was a retired cook at the former Old Stables restaurant. She was a member of St. John AME Zion Church.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Stoner and Margaret Davenport; and one brother, Buddy Lee.
She is survived by two daughters, Erica Bivens and Tonya Bivens, both of Bardstown; one son, John Henry (Karen) Bivens of Bardstown; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special friend, William “Bobo” Phillips of Bardstown.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at St. John AME Zion Church with Bro. Randy Phillips officiating.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd., is in charge of arrangements.
