Obituary: Stoy ‘J.R.’ Vittitow Jr., 79, Boston

Stoy “J.R.” Vittitow Jr., 79, of Boston, formerly of Nelsonville, died Monday, May 1, 2017, at his residence. He was born March 3, 1938 and was the son of the late Stoy Brunner and Eula B. Vittitow. He was retired from Gates Rubber Co. in Elizabethtown. He was a member of Nelsonville Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Theo Vittitow.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Dale Phelps Vittitow of Boston; one daughter, Kim (Johnny) Smith of Boston; one son, Keith (Roni) Vittitow of Boston; one grandson, Stephen Hall; one granddaughter, Mackenzie Vittitow; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 North Main St. in New Haven with the Rev. Robert Heide and Chaplain Terry Troutman officiating. Burial is in the Nelsonville Cemetery in Nelsonville.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, and 8:30-11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
