Obituary: George William ‘Bill’ Moore III, 61, formerly of Springfield
George William “Bill” Moore III, 61, widower of Vickie Lane Vance Moore, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at his home. He was born April 21, 1956, to the late George William Moore Jr. and Virginia Osborne Moore in Springfield.

He was a devout lifelong member of SS. Francis and John Catholic Parish. He was retired from R.C. Cola. He was a 25+ years clock keeper for Scott County football and basketball boy’s teams, an umpire, referee, and coached Scott County youth and adult sports. He worked with Wal-Mart, where he was a service writer for nine years. He was an avid sports fan. He and his late wife Vickie started girls softball in Scott County. He was a loving family man who was a doting poppy to his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Nikki (Henry) White and Mackenzie (Cory) Swatsler, both of Georgetown; three sisters, Irene (Henry) Graves of Georgetown, Kaye (Ken) Hunke of Irmo, S.C., Sue A. (Robert) Bruin of Georgetown; one brother, John K. (Pauline) Moore of Lakewood, Colo.; five grandchildren, Alexa White, Nicholas White, Maxton White, Ellie Swatsler, and Swazie Swatsler; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and a flock of Scott County Cardinal families.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at SS. Francis and John Catholic Parish.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home, 320 W. Main St., Georgetown.
Pallbearers are Nicholas White, Logan Bruin, Lincoln Bruin, Lance Bruin, Zach Graves, Jacob Hunke, John Hunke. Honorary pallbearers are Killer Bees/Stack Crew, Coach Bill Hicks and the Scott County Boys Basketball team, and Coach Jim McKee and the Scott County Boys Football team.
