Motorcycle rider flown to Louisville after crash on Bloomfield Road

Sunday, May 29, 2011, 10:20 p.m. — A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Sunday evening when a 1999 Ford four-door sedan pulled into his path in the 1100 block of Bloomfield Road near Countryside Drive. The unhelmeted rider was thrown from his motorcycle during the impact. Nelson County EMS transported the 24-year-old man to Flaget Memorial Hospital where EMS was met by a medical helicopter. The man was flown by helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital with head trauma including a possible broken jaw and broken teeth. The accident occurred about 9:20 Sunday evening.
